Amira F. Farid is a first-generation Egyptian Muslim born and raised in New York City and is the public relations co-chair of the Columbia Arab Alumni Association.
Amira was awarded a B.A. in Biology from Barnard College in 2020. During her time at Columbia, Amira served as a speaking fellow, an EMT with CU-EMS, a volunteer for the Global Medical Brigades, and a pediatric endocrinology research assistant at CUMC. She was also an active member of Turath and the Muslim Student Association.
Amira is currently the medical informatics system Project Manager at BronxCare Health System and is completing a post-bacc curriculum to pursue her career in medicine. Outside of academics, Amira is passionate about exploring new places. She thoroughly enjoys climbing mountains, camping, and driving under the stars. And of course, she loves to remain connected to her Arab roots through music, food, language, and travel.
