Arab Grad, June 2020

On June 7th, the Columbia Arab Alumni Association hosted the first-ever Columbia Arab Grad to celebrate the graduates of the Class of 2020. Acknowledging the achievements of students who identify as Arab from ten schools -- six graduate programs and four undergraduate -- the Arab Alumni Association is excited to see what these promising graduates will do with their degrees.

Program of events.

Prof. Rashid Khalidi delivered the keynote speech, encouraging the graduates to use their degrees to push for social justice and equality. Prof. Khalidi is the Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia.

Rasha Biary, Barnard Class of 2020, performed Sawfa Nabka Huna (سوف نبقى هنا | We will remain here).
