Rasha Biary graduated from Barnard College in 2020 with a degree in Political Economics and a minor in Chemistry.
Currently, Rasha is based in New York City and works as a Research Assistant at NYU Steinhardt for the academic component of Sesame Workshop's Ahlan Simsim Project. During her undergraduate years, Rasha was a longstanding board member for Turath, serving as an events coordinator her junior year. She was a columnist for Columbia Spectator, a vocalist for Columbia's Arabic Music Ensemble, and a peer tutor for Peer Health Exchange.
Outside of academic and professional work, Rasha loves immersing herself in Arab community and traditions. She uses her free time to visit NYC-based Arabic restaurants and events, and is currently trying to learn traditional Arabic music scales.
